Well... for one thing, we're not really a band. Well... "Butch" is a band all to himself and the rest of us love music, all kinds, but I'm not a musician, or a vocalist by any means. We're just a bunch of old foggies who like to travel, when we can, and this blog is about our travels. Sometimes together and sometimes separately. The usual catalyst for our travels is grandchildren. But this blog is not about them, it's only because of them. The blog is about us. And about the things we see and do on the road. It's a record of our impressions of that life: like the name of our little cadre, "The Flat Tire Blues Band".
The name comes from our impression of a distinctive Belgian ale called, "Fat Tire". We bought some one night while we were on the road and drank it in camp. We felt it was distinctive in a negative sense, so we renamed it "Flat Tire". We had the "Blues" about spending our money on it thus we named ourselves, "The Flat Tire Blues Band"
That's our name, and this is our story. We're stickin' to it.
